Sometimes I feel like Dory in "Finding Nemo" (just keep swimming...swimming...) And I wonder if this walking actually does any good - most people who are really thin and fit run don't they, not walk? I haven't ran since I was in my 20's. (unless you count one lap around my basement) I certainly don't plan to start again now. But I recently read that walking is great for you - even stop-and-start walking! Apparently it takes some energy to get moving again and that burns calories and is good for your heart too. To that end, I have decided to "train" for a 5k walk that will raise funds to further research on heart disease. Where would I be without the advancements in medical technology that enabled my doctors to find my heart disease and provide a solution to keep my heart pumping? You can find out more about the HeartWalk , and maybe even join my team (Schmitheads) by following this link: March 18, 2012 HeartWalk
If you don't want to walk/run, you can sponsor here: Sponsorship Page for Tari DePoy
Definitely not Me, but you gotta admit it's inspiring!
Until next time - don't give up - just keep walking!
